Graeme Reilly

Chairperson

Graeme recently retired after a long career in the Banking that included roles in credit risk, change governance, project management and training. He has worked for large and small banks within Australia, the UK, United States and New Zealand.

He passionately believes in community spirit and the rights of all people to affordable housing. He brings a vast knowledge in various community and national not-for-profit organisations and various sporting and interest groups. He is committed to assisting local groups and organisations improve their governance processes and reduce their risk profiles.

Graeme originally joined Latitude in 1995 assisting it navigate through two mergers of small youth homelessness services across the western suburbs.

He took a small break in 2016 to pursue other challenges but was reappointed to the Latitude Committee in November 2019. Graeme is looking forward to bring his business experience in the area of governance to the not-for-profit sector and to help realise the Latitude’s vision of finding solutions to complex social challenges facing our young people.

Jen Berthold

Secretary

Jen is a Psychologist working in a clinical leadership position in the not-for-profit healthcare sector. Over the years, Jen has been responsible for team leadership, strategy, risk management, customer experience, and relationship building across both healthcare and education organisations, with a focus on child and youth services.

In her spare time, Jen enjoys creative writing, gardening, and shared time with family and friends. Bringing a desire to drive continuous improvement in her local community Jen was appointed to the Latitude Committee in 2022.

Jen believes that communities benefit from ensuring that all of their members reach their fullest potential and looks forward to supporting the Latitude Team to connect with and uplift their community’s vulnerable and disconnected youth into safe homes and wrap around supports. Because, when every individual member of the community thrives, the whole community thrives.

Jamil Diu

Treasurer

Jamil is a corporate lawyer who practices in the areas of funds and financial services laws. In addition to this role, Jamil co-runs the homeless law pro-bono program at his firm, which partners with a not-for-profit to provide legal information, advice and representation to people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

In his spare time, Jamil enjoys early morning runs, trekking in mountainous and remote regions of the world, and attending plays and musical theatre performances.

Joining the Latitude Committee in 2022, Jamil hopes to capitalise on his skills and expertise to continue to meaningfully contribute to the not-for-profit sector and eradicate youth homelessness.

Annette Stephens

Committee member

As a long-term resident of Altona, Annette has a strong sense of community and the importance in making our community a productive, caring and embracing community.

As a former small business owner, in Altona, she was approached to join the Latitude Committee of Management in 2004. Her standing within our community has enabled her to promote the important work Latitude continues to undertake in Hobsons Bay and Moonee Valley.

In her retirement, Annette continues to be involved in a number of community organisations including holding the role of President of the Altona Beach Film Festival. She keenly supports Latitude’s strategy and the work that it does for addressing youth homelessness and youth at risk of homelessness in our community.

Elizabeth Watson

Committee member

Elizabeth (Libby) is a financial adviser assisting  high net wealth families, individuals, organisations, and Not for Profitsin bespoke wealth strategies. As a director at private wealth management firm, JBWere, she advises on investment management, portfolio construction, strategic advice, risk management and longer-term wealth accumulation strategies.

Libby believes in contributing to the community in various ways in order to build a more cohesive society. She currently volunteers with her dog, Rocky, as part of the Lort Smith Pet Therapy program and regularly visits Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre to spend time with patients, carers, and staff.

In her spare time, she enjoys going to the theatre, playing board games and hiking.

Libby joined the Latitude Committee of Management in late 2023 and is looking forward to supporting the team as they continue to improve the lives of the youth in Melbourne’s West.

Brydie Quinn

Committee Member

Brydie is the Chief Operating Officer at Able Australia, a not-for-profit organisation focussed on supporting people with disabilities including those with deafblindness. Her focus is spread across multiple states and service types, with steady focus on client and family experience.  She has more than a decade of experience as a Director in Victoria’s public hospitals, successfully tackling issues of patient flow and access, quality and risk management, and transition supports. Prior to this, she held strategic advisory and project roles with the Victorian Department of Health and the Commonwealth Department of Health. She has also held a number of NFP Board Positions including as Chair. She has a Masters in Public Policy and Management and in 2023 completed the Williamson Community Leadership Program.

 

Brydie has three school aged children and is deeply aware of the issues this generation are facing.  She is passionate about ensuring opportunities to thrive for all people, especially young people and those with disability and mental health issues.  She is particularly congnisant of the stabilising force that secure housing provides,and feels a strong responsibility to support younger people in our community.  

 

She joined the Latitude Committee in 2023.
